JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Sept. 11, 2007) - Coming off its second straight trip to the NCAA Championships, the ETSU men's golf team has earned a spot among the nation's elite once again, being picked 14th in the preseason poll recently released by Golfweek/Sagarin. In addition, Golfweek named ETSU senior Gareth Shaw (Lisburn, Northern Ireland) as a preseason third team All-America selection.

"It's good to once again be competing with the nation's best teams," said ETSU head coach Fred Warren, who has taken the Bucs to the NCAA Championships 12 times. "We're looking forward to getting back on the course."

Shaw and the Bucs will open their 2007-08 schedule this weekend in the Carpet Capital Collegiate. Despite losing the services of Rhys Davies (Bridgend, Wales), a three-time PING first-team All-America selection, the Bucs return four of their top five players from a year ago and have added three quality newcomers.
