JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Oct. 8, 2014) -- Leading up to this weekend's Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate, the ETSU men‘s golf team will be featured in a "Getting to Know" segment on ETSUBucs.com.
Our third golfer to be featured is senior Rhys Pugh (Pontypridd, Wales). Pugh, a 2013 participant at the Open Championship at Muirfield, is also a two-time Walker Cup member. The Welshman has also earned a pair of All-Atlantic Sun honors, while leading the Buccaneers in scoring average (72.8) and posted a team-best six top-10 finishes a year ago. Last fall, Pugh played in the Sun Bowl Western Refining All-America Golf Classic, which is considered “The No. 1 tournament in collegiate golf,” and played in both the last two British Amateur and U.S. Amateur Championships. Pugh tied for eighth at last year’s Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate, marking ETSU’s top individual finish since Rhys Enoch tied for fifth in 2009.
