BRADENTON, Fla. (May 31, 2015) – Third round play at the NCAA Championship from Concession Golf Club was suspended on Sunday evening due to lightning.
Junior Gudmundur Kristjansson (Reykjavik, Iceland) entered the day tied for 60th at 6-over-par 150, but was 3-over through 13 holes before Mother Nature forced the stoppage of play. After collecting four bogeys and a birdie on the front nine, Kristjansson parred his first four holes after making the turn.
However, at 6:28 p.m. play was suspended for the remainder of the day due to lightning. Third round play will resume Monday morning at 7 a.m.
SMU’s Bryson Dechambeau is the clubhouse leader at 7-under par 209, while Thomas Detry (Illinois) and Zach Healy (Georgia) are both 4-under through 14. UAB’s Paul Dunne concluded his three rounds and sits in second-place at 6-under-par 210, while South Florida’s Claudio Correa is 4-under-par 212 after 54-holes of play.
The top 15 teams and nine individuals not on an advancing team move into Monday’s final round where the 72-hole individual champion will be crowned. Monday’s final round will get underway 30-45 minutes after the conclusion of round three, but no earlier than 10 a.m.
