Day One of The Prestige at PGA West cancelled

LA QUINTA, Calif. (Feb. 19, 2018) – The ETSU men’s golf team will have to wait another day to begin its spring campaign.

Monday’s opening round of The Prestige at PGA West was cancelled due to high winds in the southern California region. Wind gusts of over 40 miles per hour hit the region.

The Bucs are scheduled to tee off from No. 10 on Tuesday morning at 11:14 ET, and will be paired with Pepperdine and San Francisco.

Teams will play 36 holes on Tuesday with the final round being contested on Wednesday.

The prestigious tournament features eight teams ranked in the top-50 of either the Golfstat or Golfweek Rankings, including top-ranked Oklahoma State. Joining the Cowboys are No. 9 LSU, No. 10 Stanford, No. 19 Southern Cal, No. 38 San Diego State, No. 41 Oregon, No. 44 Northwestern and No. 49 Pepperdine.   

Individually, nine golfers are ranked in the top-50 of either the Golfstat or Golfweek Rankings, including top-ranked Justin Suh of Southern Cal. In addition, four golfers are ranked in the top-10 and five in the top-25.

ETSU’s lineup this week includes No. 1 Geuntae Kim, No. 2 Austin Carter, No. 3 Trevor Hulbert, No. 4 Shiso Go and No. 5 Jack Rhea.
