DURHAM, N.C. (Sept. 8, 2018) – Sophomores Jack Rhea (Jonesborough, Tenn.) and Shiso Go (Kanagawa, Japan) paced the ETSU men’s golf team on day one of the Rod Myers Invitational, as the Buccaneer duo sit tied for 18th following the first two rounds from the Duke University Golf Club.

Rhea and Go both sit in the top-20 after shooting even-par 144 through the first 36 holes, while the Buccaneers are in seventh-place at 6-over-par 582 (289-293). Go, who totaled 24 pars and six birdies on the day, finished with back-to-back rounds of even-par 72. Rhea registered 24 pars and seven birdies in the first two rounds en route to totaling a 2-under 70 in round one and a 2-over 74 in the nightcap.

Florida State’s John Pak sits atop the individual leaderboard at 13-under-par 131 (62-69), while he holds a six-shot lead over Duke’s Harrison Taee and a seven-stroke advantage over Penn State’s JD Hughes. Pak built his comfortable lead after breaking the tournament record with a 10-under 62 in the opening round.

Penn State holds the team lead by one shot over North Carolina and sits nine shots ahead of tournament host Duke. The Nittany Lions are at 11-under-par 565 (278-287) after day one of the tournament, while North Carolina is at 10-under-par 566 (280-286).

Senior Geuntae Kim (Daegu, South Korea) is tied for 27th at 3-over-par 147 (74-73), while freshman Dhaivat Pandya (Dayton, Ohio) and redshirt sophomore Zack Ford (Cochranton, Pa.) are tied for 49th at 6-over-par 150. Pandya, who is making his collegiate debut, carded his first eagle as a Buccaneer by accomplishing the feat on the par-5, 493-yard No. 9 in round one. Meanwhile, Ford is playing as an individual this weekend for the Blue and Gold.

The final round of the tournament concludes on Sunday with ETSU teeing off from No. 10 beginning at 9:15 a.m. The Buc are grouped with Virginia Tech and East Carolina.
