LA QUINTA, Calif. (Feb. 19, 2019)– ETSU redshirt junior Trevor Hulbert (Orlando, Fla.) continues to pace the Buccaneers at The Prestige presented by Charles Schwab from the Greg Norman Course at PGA WEST.
Hulbert posted an even-par 71 in Tuesday’s second round and is tied for 13th at 1-over-par 143 following 36 holes of competition. The Orlando, Fla. native collected three birdies, 12 pars and three bogeys in his round, while playing his final five holes at one-under en route to posting the 71 on his scorecard. Hulbert dialed in back-to-back birdies on No. 5 & 6, while picked up his first birdie of the day on the par-5, 566-yard No. 12.

Stanford’s Brandon Wu – the day one leader – and Thomas Hutchison from host UC Davis hold a share of the individual lead at 7-under-par 135. Hutchison fired a 5-under 66 on Tuesday, while Wu posted a 1-under 70. The two leaders how a three-shot advantage over Oklahoma State’s Austin Eckroat, while Victor Hovland (Oklahoma State) and Nathan Jeansonne (LSU) are four shots back at 3-under-par 139.
LSU, who has claimed two of the last three titles at this tournament, moved into the team lead after recording a 4-under 280 in round two. The 16th-ranked Tigers began the day one shot back of reigning national champion Oklahoma State and now hold a five-stroke advantage over the top-ranked Cowboys entering Wednesday’s final round. No. 14 Pepperdine is in third at 2-over-par 570 and No. 43 UCLA is in fourth at 3-over-par 571.
As a team, the Blue and Gold totaled a 12-over 296 on Tuesday and are tied for ninth at 25-over-par 593. The Bucs are tied with Utah, while ETSU is still leading No. 18 Arkansas (+27) and No. 46 Iowa State (+33).
Sophomore Jack Rhea (Jonesborough, Tenn.) is tied for 32nd at 5-over-par 147, while senior Geuntae Kim (Daegu, South Korea) is tied for 44th at 7-over-par 149 and sophomore Shiso Go (Kanagawa, Japan) is tied for 65th at 12-over-par 154.
The Bucs will be grouped with Utah and Northwestern in Wednesday’s final round, which begins at 10:30 a.m. ET.
