The Jake Amos Era begins Sept. 6 in Georgia

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Aug. 2, 2019) – East Tennessee State University Men’s Golf Head Coach Jake Amos announced the 2019-20 Buccaneer golf schedule on Friday.

The season will feature a 12-tournament regular season, beginning with the Carpet Capital Collegiate hosted by Georgia Tech in Rocky Face, Ga. on Sept. 6-8. The opening tournament will also be streamed live on Golfstat at The Farm Golf Club.

Following the Windon Memorial Classic (Sept. 16-17) in Lake Forest, Ill., the Bucs will host one tournament in the fall, the annual Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate at Blackthorn Club at The Ridges on Oct. 11-13. This will be the 22nd year that the Blue & Gold have hosted the prestigious event. The Bucs claimed the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate Title last season for the first time in program history, holding off Louisville in a one-stroke differential.

ETSU will compete in two final fall events, the much-coveted Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate in Alpharetta, Ga. (Oct. 18-20), followed by the Hoakalei CC Collegiate Invitational on Oct. 28-30 in Oahu Island, Hawaii.

The Bucs will play in seven different events in the spring, including the Southern Conference Championship on April 19-21 at Reynolds Plantation in Greensboro, Ga. ETSU will make a repeat appearance in both the General Hackler Championship hosted by Coastal Carolina (March 9-10) and the Mason Rudolph Championship hosted by Vanderbilt on April 3-5.

“I am excited with the schedule we set for the 2019-2020 season,” stated Coach Amos. “I believe in playing against the best competition we can all year as well as putting the guys on the best possible golf courses. We have a great mix of that this year. I think this schedule will get the players experience on all types of grasses, climates and different styles of golf courses. Being a young team this year this can only help our development as a team.”

The Bucs return four players from last season’s roster, including SoCon Individual Champion Shiso Go (Kanagawa, Japan) as well as Jack Rhea (Jonesborough, Tenn.), Trevor Hulbert (Orlando, Fla.) and Austin Carter (Kingsport, Tenn.). The Blue & Gold welcome a trio of new faces in: Remi Chartier (Montreal, Canada), Archie Davies (Carlisle, England) and Samuel Espinosa (Pedrena, Spain).
