JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Nov. 14, 2019) – ETSU Men’s Golf Coach Jake Amos announced on Thursday that Ben Carberry (Bonnybridge, Scotland) has signed a national letter of intent to join the Buccaneer program in the fall of 2020.

Carberry is a member of the Scottish National Team and was also named the 2019 Scottish Schools Champion. The Scottish native has also claimed both the Stirlingshire Golf Union County R.C. Campbell trophy and the Stirlingshire Golf Union County Champion of Champions title. Carberry has positioned himself inside the top 10 of three different tournaments with an 8th-place finish in the Sir Henry Cooper Junior Masters, 9th-place finish in the Scottish Boys Strokeplay and 10th at the Steven Gallagher Trophy. The incoming Buccaneer also finished 14th in the Scottish Boys Open Championship and 16th in the Paul Lawrie Junior Jug tournament.

Carberry plays his home golf at Falkirk Golf Club and Glenbervie Golf Club. The 6’4” golfer also represented Scotland at the European Boys and Home Internationals Captain of Scottish Schools against England.

“We are extremely fortunate to have Ben coming to ETSU,” stated Coach Amos. “He is part of the Scottish National Team, so he is used to big tournaments under big pressure. Personally he fits into the culture and expectations of this program and I am excited to see where he can get his game to.”
