SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Feb. 25 is perhaps the most important date in the history of the Southern Conference. On that particular Friday in 1921, the first day of the league’s groundbreaking basketball tournament, representatives from 14 of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Association’s 30 members gathered in Atlanta, Georgia, to establish the Southern Intercollegiate College.
SPARTANBURG, S.C. (Feb. 24, 2021) – For the first time in his collegiate career, ETSU Men’s Golf redshirt-freshman Archie Davies (Carlisle, England) has been named the Southern Conference Men’s Golfer of the Week. The league office announced the first award of the season on Wednesday afternoon. The award covered all tournaments leading up to Tuesday, Feb. 23.
KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. (Feb. 16, 2021) – It was a career-best event for redshirt-freshman Archie Davies (Carlisle, England) as the England native finished in a two-way tie for second place at the 2021 Kiawah Invitational. As a team, the ETSU Men’s Golf squad finished fourth in the 14-team field with a team score of 24-under-par (840). The Bucs were one of four teams that posted a score of 20-under-par or better for the tournament. In the final round, ETSU carded a score of 283 (-5).
KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. (Feb. 15, 2021) – The ETSU Men’s Golf team was finally able to storm the Oak Point Golf Club in Kiawah Island, S.C. after missing yesterday’s action due to weather. The Bucs were able to finish the opening round and more than half of the second round before play was called due to darkness. The Bucs are currently sitting in a tie for third with Clemson at 18-under-par, trailing Wake Forest (-33) and Kentucky (-23).
KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. (Feb. 14, 2021) – The ETSU Men’s Golf team will have to wait another day to showcase its talent at the Oak Point Golf Course in Kiawah Island, S.C. The opening round of the 2021 Kiawah Invitational was postponed, following a two-hour delay, due to inclement weather in the area.
KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. (Feb. 12, 2021) – The ETSU Men’s Golf team will return to team play beginning on Sunday, Feb. 14 for a three-day tournament in Kiawah Island, S.C. The Bucs will be one of 14 teams competing in the Kiawah Invitational, hosted by College of Charleston. The tournament will conclude on Tuesday, Feb. 16.
STATESBORO, Ga. (Feb. 1, 2021) – The ETSU Men’s Golf team completed its second tournament of the season, this time an individual tournament in Statesboro, Ga. The Bucs sent four representatives to take part in the 2021 Thomas Sharkey Individual Collegiate hosted by Georgia Southern.

WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif. (Jan. 27, 2021) – It was not the ideal playing conditions for the final round of the 2021 Southwestern Invitational as the ETSU Men’s Golf team labored through an 18-over-par (306) round. However, the Bucs did jump one position on the leaderboard, taking solo 8th-place in the event with a 40-over-par (904) mark for the tournament.
WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif. (Jan. 26, 2021) – Day two proved to be moving day in the field as the weather was prime for low rounds ahead of the weather coming in for Wednesday’s final round. The ETSU Men’s Golf team saw a 12-shot improvement from yesterday’s opening round, carding a 5-over-par (293), however sliding two spots on the leaderboard into solo ninth.
WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif. (Jan. 25, 2021) – It was a windy day in the opening round of the prestigious Southwestern Invitational, hosted by Pepperdine at the North Ranch Country Club in Westlake Village, Calif. The ETSU Men’s Golf team battled both a loaded field and wind gusts nearing 30 mph to sit in a tie for 7th following a 17-over-par (305) first round.

Algot Kleen (Fiskebackskil, Sweden), Andrew Propes (Charleston, S.C.) and Jack Tickle (Bristol, Tenn.) have all signed a national letter of intent to join the Buccaneer program in the fall of 2021 and will join Josh McCabe (Dublin, Ireland) who signed for the fall of 2020 but deferred to 2021.

CARROLLTON, Texas (Oct. 20, 2020) – The 2020 Fall season has officially ended for the ETSU Men’s Golf team as the Buccaneers concluded play at the Maridoe Collegiate on Tuesday afternoon. The Blue & Gold jumped two spots on the leaderboard to finish in sole possession of 10th with a score of 62-over-par (926).
CARROLLTON, Texas (Oct. 19, 2020) – The ETSU Men’s Golf team dropped two spots on the team leaderboard in the second day of the 2020 Maridoe Collegiate, falling to 12th with a score of 56-over-par (632). The Bucs, competing at Maridoe Golf Club in Carrollton, Texas, carded a second-round score of 27-over-par (315) for a two-shot improvement from day one.
CARROLLTON, Texas (Oct. 18, 2020) – The ETSU Men’s Golf squad concluded the opening round of the 2020 Maridoe Collegiate Invitational on Sunday afternoon in Carrollton, Texas. The final event of the Fall season saw the Bucs open the tournament with a score of 29-over-par (317).

CARROLLTON, Texas (Oct. 16, 2020) – The ETSU Men’s Golf team is set to make its final fall appearance of the season, traveling to Carrollton, Texas to compete in the 2020 Maridoe Invitational from Oct. 18-20. The tournament will be held at the Maridoe Golf Club, hosted by North Texas and will feature many of the top teams in collegiate golf. With the prestigious tournament comes a chance for the individual winner to compete on a PGA Tour event, the 2020 Houston Open from Nov. 5-8.
SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Southern Conference Commissioner Jim Schaus announced Tuesday the formation of a Racial Equity and Justice Task Force to counsel the league by identifying concepts and developing actionable items that can be used by all conference member schools regarding improving racial equity and social justice. The 15-member panel is composed of a racially diverse blend of student-athletes, coaches, campus administrators and athletics department staff members, with at least one representative from each of the league’s 10 full member schools.

OOLTEWAH, Tenn. (Sept. 22, 2020) – The ETSU Men’s Golf squad wrapped up the first competition of the new season on Tuesday, carding a 2-over-par (290) to claim sole possession of second place at the 2020 Scenic City Collegiate. The event was held at the famous Honors Course in Ooltewah, Tenn. The Bucs, who finished 20-over-par (884), entered the final round three strokes off the lead but could not catch UAB as the Blazers finished six strokes ahead of the Bucs.
OOLTEWAH, Tenn. (Sept. 21, 2020) – Taking part in its first competition since March, the ETSU Buccaneers Men’s Golf team is positioned comfortably in third place at 18-over-par following the first two rounds of the 2020 Scenic City Collegiate in Ooltewah, Tenn. The Bucs played 36 holes of golf in the opening day, beginning with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. and rolling straight into the second round.
OOLTEWAH, Tenn. (Sept. 19, 2020) – After a much-anticipated wait, the 2020-21 ETSU Men’s Golf season is here. The Bucs, appearing in their first tournament since March 10, will travel to Ooltewah, Tenn., to take on the famous Honors Course in the 2020 Scenic City Collegiate. The tournament will be hosted by Southern Conference foe, Chattanooga. The event will begin on Monday, Sept. 21 and conclude with the final round on Tuesday, Sept. 22.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Sept. 17, 2020) – The season is officially upon us as the ETSU Buccaneers Men’s Golf team announced on Thursday that it will compete in a pair of fall events. ETSU will begin the fall season on Monday, Sept. 21 when the Bucs travel to Chattanooga to compete in the Scenic City Collegiate from Sept. 21-22. ETSU will close out the fall season in Carrollton, Texas from Oct. 18-20, competing in the 2020 Maridoe Invitational hosted by North Texas.

(Aug. 13, 2020) – The Southern Conference Council of Presidents announced Thursday that the league will not have fall conference competition due to health and safety concerns related to the COVID-19 pandemic, allowing for nonconference contests if desired. It is the intention to move the fall sports’ regular-season competition and championships to the spring.
BANDON, Ore. (Aug. 12, 2020) – ETSU men’s golf saw its competition in the 120th U.S. Amateur Championship come to an end on Wednesday morning. Jack Rhea (Jonesborough, Tenn.) reached the 18-way playoff for the final three spots on in the match play draw on Wednesday morning, but fell short on the second playoff hole at Bandon Dunes in Bandon, Ore.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Aug. 8, 2020) – A trio of Buccaneers will tee off in the 120th U.S. Amateur Championship in Bandon, Oregon. The 120th U.S. Amateur will be played at Bandon Dunes Golf Resort, using both Bandon Dunes (par-72, 7,218 yards) and Bandon Trails (par-71, 6,883 yards).
