NAIRN, SCOTLAND (June 15, 2021) -- ETSU’s Archie Davies (Carlisle, England) advanced into match play at the 126th Amateur Championship as the stroke play portion of the tournament concluded on Tuesday from The Nairn Golf Club in Scotland.


Meronk Qualifies for U.S. Open

LA JOLLA, Calif. (June 8, 2021) – For the first time in his professional career, former ETSU Men’s Golfer Adrian Meronk will compete in a major championship on the PGA Tour. Meronk will take part in the 121st edition of the U.S. Open at Torrey Pines in La Jolla, Calif. from June 17-20 and is the first Poland native to compete in the historic event.

ETSU Concludes Season at NCAA Championship

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (May 30, 2021) – It was a season to remember for the ETSU Men’s Golf team. The Bucs had to battle through the COVID pandemic and the uncertainty of being able to play each week. However, that did not hinder the Blue & Gold from reaching milestones that had not been achieved in quite some time. The Bucs claimed their 21st Southern Conference Championship before winning the Cle Elum Regional for the program’s first NCAA Regional win since 2001. ETSU then made the trip to Scottsdale, Ariz. to compete in the NCAA Championship for the first time as a team since the 2008 season. Unfortunately for the Bucs, the season ended in the third round of stroke play at the Grayhawk Golf Club as ETSU finished 28th in the field of 30 after a tournament score of 53-over-par (893). The Bucs capped off their final round of action with a 22-over-par (302) performance.


Trio of Bucs Earn PING Division I East All-Region Honors

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (May 30, 2021) – For the second consecutive season the Bucs have placed multiple golfers on the PING Division I East All-Region team. Archie Davies (Carlisle, England), Shiso Go (Kanagawa, Japan) and Trevor Hulbert (Orlando, Fla.) earned spots on the all-region team as announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America on Saturday afternoon. The ETSU trio represent three of the four Southern Conference golfers named to the list, joined by Keller Harper of Furman.


Bucs Climb Three Spots on Moving Day

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (May 29, 2021) – Round two of the NCAA Men’s Golf Championship is complete and the Bucs have climbed three spots up the leaderboard after an 11-over-par (291) second round at the Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz. ETSU jumped into 25th, sitting 11 strokes behind 15th place. The field will be cut down to the top 15 teams following tomorrow’s round.


Bucs Complete Day One at NCAA Championship

Bucs Earn Regional Victory in Washington

CLE ELUM, Wash. (May 19, 2021) – It has been 20 years to the day but the wait is over for the ETSU Men’s Golf team as the Bucs have claimed their first NCAA Regional title since winning the East Regional on May 19, 2001. ETSU captured the Cle Elum Regional in Cle Elum, Wash. with a winning score of 14-under-par (838), besting San Francisco (-4) by double digits at Tumble Creek Golf Club. This is the first time since the 2008 season that the Bucs will be heading to the NCAA Championship.

Bucs Ride Eagles to Climb Leaderboard on Moving Day

CLE ELUM, Wash. (May 18, 2021) – Today was moving day in Cle Elum, Washington and the Bucs took full advantage. The ETSU Men’s Golf team fired a 14-under-par (270) to pull away from the rest of the field at Tumble Creek Golf Club at Suncadia Resort. The Bucs began the day two shots back of the lead and are now coasting with an 11-stroke advantage heading into the final round on Wednesday thanks in large part to four eagles on the day. The 270 is the lowest overall score that a team has posted during the entirety of the 2021 NCAA Regional tournaments and is also the third lowest team score in program history.

Bucs Open NCAA Regionals in Washington on Monday

CLE ELUM, Wash. (May 15, 2021) – The ETSU Men’s Golf team is poised and ready for a run to the NCAA Championship but will have to advance from the Cle Elum Regional first. The Bucs will tee off at Tumble Creek Golf Club on Monday in Cle Elum, Washington. The regional will begin on Monday, May 17 and will conclude on Wednesday, May 19. The Cle Elum Regional consists of 14 teams and five individuals.

Bucs Finish Regular Season on Strong Note

CARY, N.C. (April 10, 2021) – It was a record-setting day for the Bucs in the final day of the Stitch Intercollegiate in Cary, N.C. as the Bucs finished 3rd in a field of 12 teams. ETSU concluded the event with a team score of 38-under-par (826), a new 54-hole program record for the ETSU Men’s Golf program. The record was thanks in large part to a final-round 18-under-par (270) which ranks T-3rd lowest single round score in program history, while marking the T-2nd lowest round vs. par in school history. All five Buccaneer competitors carded season-low 54-hole totals in the tournament.


ETSU Positioned 4th in Stitch Intercollegiate

CARY, N.C. (April 9, 2021) – The ETSU Men’s Golf team is positioned nicely nearing the end of round two at the 2021 Stitch Intercollegiate as play was halted due to inclement weather and darkness. Bucs Conclude Regular Season in North Carolina

CARY, N.C. (April 8, 2021) – The ETSU Men’s Golf team is gearing up for its final tournament of the 2020-21 regular season, the Stitch Intercollegiate in Cary, N.C. Bucs Conclude Old Waverly Collegiate Championship

WEST POINT, Miss. (March 28, 2021) – After nearly a four-hour weather delay, the Bucs were finally able to take the course in the final round of the Old Waverly Collegiate Championship. ETSU climbed as high as fifth in the team standings but could not sustain the momentum, settling for an 8th-place finish with a team score of 2-over-par (866). The Bucs posted a 4-over-par (292) in the final round, which marked the fourth-best team score of the day.

WEST POINT, Miss. (March 26, 2021) – The ETSU Men’s Golf team saw a roller coaster of a day in which they were featured atop the leaderboard and as low as 11th. ETSU Climbs Leaderboard at General Hackler

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (March 15, 2021) – After carding a 2-over-par (290) in the opening round of the General Hackler Championship, the ETSU Men’s Golf team responded with a similar 1-over-par (289) in the second round. However, the course played tougher in day two as the Bucs’ 289 was the third-best team score of the day, trailing N.C. State (278) and North Florida (283). ETSU climbed three spots up the leaderboard into solo 7th, tying N.C. State and North Florida for the largest jump up the leaderboard after round two.

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (March 13, 2021) – After nearly a month away from competition, the ETSU Men’s Golf team will be back in action at the 2021 General Hackler Championship in Myrtle Beach, S.C. Southern Conference celebrates Founders’ Day

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Feb. 25 is perhaps the most important date in the history of the Southern Conference. On that particular Friday in 1921, the first day of the league’s groundbreaking basketball tournament, representatives from 14 of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Association’s 30 members gathered in Atlanta, Georgia, to establish the Southern Intercollegiate College.

Davies Places Second at Kiawah Invitational

KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. (Feb. 16, 2021) – It was a career-best event for redshirt-freshman Archie Davies (Carlisle, England) as the England native finished in a two-way tie for second place at the 2021 Kiawah Invitational. As a team, the ETSU Men’s Golf squad finished fourth in the 14-team field with a team score of 24-under-par (840). The Bucs were one of four teams that posted a score of 20-under-par or better for the tournament. In the final round, ETSU carded a score of 283 (-5).


Bucs Tied for Third at Kiawah Invitational

KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. (Feb. 15, 2021) – The ETSU Men’s Golf team was finally able to storm the Oak Point Golf Club in Kiawah Island, S.C. after missing yesterday’s action due to weather. The Bucs were able to finish the opening round and more than half of the second round before play was called due to darkness. The Bucs are currently sitting in a tie for third with Clemson at 18-under-par, trailing Wake Forest (-33) and Kentucky (-23).

KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. (Feb. 14, 2021) – The ETSU Men’s Golf team will have to wait another day to showcase its talent at the Oak Point Golf Course in Kiawah Island, S.C. The opening round of the 2021 Kiawah Invitational was postponed, following a two-hour delay, due to inclement weather in the area.


Men’s Golf Returns to action at Kiawah

KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. (Feb. 12, 2021) – The ETSU Men’s Golf team will return to team play beginning on Sunday, Feb. 14 for a three-day tournament in Kiawah Island, S.C. Bucs Place Eighth in Southwestern Invitational

WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif. (Jan. 27, 2021) – It was not the ideal playing conditions for the final round of the 2021 Southwestern Invitational as the ETSU Men’s Golf team labored through an 18-over-par (306) round. However, the Bucs did jump one position on the leaderboard, taking solo 8th-place in the event with a 40-over-par (904) mark for the tournament.

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Nov. 11, 2020) – ETSU Men’s Golf Head Coach Jake Amos has announced the signing of three newcomers during the early signing period. Algot Kleen (Fiskebackskil, Sweden), Andrew Propes (Charleston, S.C.) and Jack Tickle (Bristol, Tenn.) have all signed a national letter of intent to join the Buccaneer program in the fall of 2021 and will join Josh McCabe (Dublin, Ireland) who signed for the fall of 2020 but deferred to 2021.

Bucs Cap off 2020 Fall Campaign

CARROLLTON, Texas (Oct. 20, 2020) – The 2020 Fall season has officially ended for the ETSU Men’s Golf team as the Buccaneers concluded play at the Maridoe Collegiate on Tuesday afternoon. The Blue & Gold jumped two spots on the leaderboard to finish in sole possession of 10th with a score of 62-over-par (926).


ETSU wraps up Second Round in Texas

CARROLLTON, Texas (Oct. 19, 2020) – The ETSU Men’s Golf team dropped two spots on the team leaderboard in the second day of the 2020 Maridoe Collegiate, falling to 12th with a score of 56-over-par (632). The Bucs, competing at Maridoe Golf Club in Carrollton, Texas, carded a second-round score of 27-over-par (315) for a two-shot improvement from day one.


Bucs Conclude First Round at Maridoe

CARROLLTON, Texas (Oct. 18, 2020) – The ETSU Men’s Golf squad concluded the opening round of the 2020 Maridoe Collegiate Invitational on Sunday afternoon in Carrollton, Texas. The final event of the Fall season saw the Bucs open the tournament with a score of 29-over-par (317).

ETSU to Conclude Fall Play at Maridoe

CARROLLTON, Texas (Oct. 16, 2020) – The ETSU Men’s Golf team is set to make its final fall appearance of the season, traveling to Carrollton, Texas to compete in the 2020 Maridoe Invitational from Oct. 18-20. The tournament will be held at the Maridoe Golf Club, hosted by North Texas and will feature many of the top teams in collegiate golf. With the prestigious tournament comes a chance for the individual winner to compete on a PGA Tour event, the 2020 Houston Open from Nov. 5-8.


SoCon announces Racial Equity and Justice Task Force

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Southern Conference Commissioner Jim Schaus announced Tuesday the formation of a Racial Equity and Justice Task Force to counsel the league by identifying concepts and developing actionable items that can be used by all conference member schools regarding improving racial equity and social justice. The 15-member panel is composed of a racially diverse blend of student-athletes, coaches, campus administrators and athletics department staff members, with at least one representative from each of the league’s 10 full member schools.

ETSU Snatches Second at Scenic City Collegiate

OOLTEWAH, Tenn. (Sept. 22, 2020) – The ETSU Men’s Golf squad wrapped up the first competition of the new season on Tuesday, carding a 2-over-par (290) to claim sole possession of second place at the 2020 Scenic City Collegiate. The event was held at the famous Honors Course in Ooltewah, Tenn. The Bucs, who finished 20-over-par (884), entered the final round three strokes off the lead but could not catch UAB as the Blazers finished six strokes ahead of the Bucs.


Bucs Shake off Rust to Sit Third in Ooltewah

OOLTEWAH, Tenn. (Sept. 21, 2020) – Taking part in its first competition since March, the ETSU Buccaneers Men’s Golf team is positioned comfortably in third place at 18-over-par following the first two rounds of the 2020 Scenic City Collegiate in Ooltewah, Tenn. The Bucs played 36 holes of golf in the opening day, beginning with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. and rolling straight into the second round.


Bucs set for Opener at Scenic City Collegiate

OOLTEWAH, Tenn. (Sept. 19, 2020) – After a much-anticipated wait, the 2020-21 ETSU Men’s Golf season is here. The Bucs, appearing in their first tournament since March 10, will travel to Ooltewah, Tenn., to take on the famous Honors Course in the 2020 Scenic City Collegiate. The tournament will be hosted by Southern Conference foe, Chattanooga. The event will begin on Monday, Sept. 21 and conclude with the final round on Tuesday, Sept. 22.


ETSU Reveals Fall 2020 Men’s Golf Slate

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Sept. 17, 2020) – The season is officially upon us as the ETSU Buccaneers Men’s Golf team announced on Thursday that it will compete in a pair of fall events. ETSU will begin the fall season on Monday, Sept. 21 when the Bucs travel to Chattanooga to compete in the Scenic City Collegiate from Sept. 21-22. ETSU will close out the fall season in Carrollton, Texas from Oct. 18-20, competing in the 2020 Maridoe Invitational hosted by North Texas.

Southern Conference postpones fall conference competition

SPARTANBURG, S.C. (Aug. 13, 2020) – The Southern Conference Council of Presidents announced Thursday that the league will not have fall conference competition due to health and safety concerns related to the COVID-19 pandemic, allowing for nonconference contests if desired. It is the intention to move the fall sports’ regular-season competition and championships to the spring.


Buccaneer Trio Conclude Play at U.S. Amateur

BANDON, Ore. (Aug. 12, 2020) – ETSU men’s golf saw its competition in the 120th U.S. Amateur Championship come to an end on Wednesday morning. Jack Rhea (Jonesborough, Tenn.) reached the 18-way playoff for the final three spots on in the match play draw on Wednesday morning, but fell short on the second playoff hole at Bandon Dunes in Bandon, Ore.


Trio of Bucs to Play in U.S. Amateur

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Aug. 8, 2020) – A trio of Buccaneers will tee off in the 120th U.S. Amateur Championship in Bandon, Oregon. The 120th U.S. Amateur will be played at Bandon Dunes Golf Resort, using both Bandon Dunes (par-72, 7,218 yards) and Bandon Trails (par-71, 6,883 yards).
