CARROLLTON, Texas (Oct. 18, 2020) – The ETSU Men’s Golf squad concluded the opening round of the 2020 Maridoe Collegiate Invitational on Sunday afternoon in Carrollton, Texas. The final event of the Fall season saw the Bucs open the tournament with a score of 29-over-par (317).
ETSU was led in scoring by sophomore Archie Davies (Carlisle, England) who carded an opening round of 6-over-par (78). Davies is followed closely by teammates Jack Rhea (Jonesborough, Tenn.) and Sam Espinosa (Pedrena, Spain) who posted identical scores of 7-over-par (79).
Baylor leads the field with an opening-round score of 11-over-par (299), followed by host North Texas (+12) and top-ranked Pepperdine (+14).
Only five individuals broke par in the opening round, led by Kansas’ Luke Kluver who tallied a 4-under-par (68) in the opening 18 holes.
ETSU will be back in action for round two beginning tomorrow at 9 a.m. (ET), teeing off hole one in 10-minute intervals.
