ETSU wraps up Second Round in Texas

CARROLLTON, Texas (Oct. 19, 2020) – The ETSU Men’s Golf team dropped two spots on the team leaderboard in the second day of the 2020 Maridoe Collegiate, falling to 12th with a score of 56-over-par (632). The Bucs, competing at Maridoe Golf Club in Carrollton, Texas, carded a second-round score of 27-over-par (315) for a two-shot improvement from day one.

It was senior golfer Shiso Go (Kanagawa, Japan) who carded the best round of the day for the Blue & Gold, finishing with a 2-over-par (74). The Japan native posted two birdies on his scorecard, both on the final nine as he fired an even-par (36) down the closing stretch of his second round. Go (+11) trails teammate Archie Davies (Carlisle, England) by one stroke overall as the England native finished 4-over-par (76) today and is currently 10-over-par (154) for the tournament.

Oklahoma State took over the top spot on the team leaderboard after turning in the only team score at even-par or better. The Cowboys (+16) finished with an even-par (288) second round to top Baylor (+17) by one stroke heading into the final round on Tuesday.

Luke Kluver of Kansas remains atop the individual leaderboard after carding an even-par (72) on Monday, remaining at 4-under-par (144) for the tournament. Kluver is now the only competitor in the field that is under par.

ETSU will be back in action for the final round beginning tomorrow at 9 a.m. (ET), teeing off hole on hole No. 1 in 10-minute intervals.
