Buc Nation
The Bucs are headed to the Golden State with a strong lineup that has one thing in mind and that is to pick up the first win of the new season. ETSU will be headlined by a trio of veteran golfers, beginning with Trevor Hulbert (Orlando, Fla.) who is coming off a victory at the First Coast Amateur earlier in the week.

Joining Hulbert are fellow seniors Shiso Go (Kanagawa, Japan) and Jack Rhea (Jonesborough, Tenn.). Go competed in two tournaments in the fall, finishing tied for 40th in the Maridoe Invitational to conclude 2020. The Japan native has a history of success with seven career Top-10 finishes, including a pair of wins. Rhea began the 2020-2021 season with a Top-10 finish at the Scenic City Collegiate in Ooltewah, Tenn. The Tennessee native enters the tournament ranked 50th in the latest PGA TOUR University rankings.

Archie Davies (Carlisle, England) and Remi Chartier (Montreal, Canada) round out the lineup for the Blue & Gold. Davies had a season-best finish of 11th at the Scenic City Collegiate this previous fall. The England native is coming off a strong freshman campaign where he carded two Top-10 finishes on the season. Chartier made his collegiate debut at the Scenic City Collegiate after missing his freshman season due to an injury. The Canada native is coming off an amateur win at the 2021 New Year’s Invitational, finishing 6-under-par for the tournament.

About the Tournament
The 2021 Southwestern Invitational will be hosted by top-ranked Pepperdine and will take place at the North Ranch Country Club in Westlake Village, Calif. This will be ETSU’s first-ever appearance in the event. The Southwestern Invitational will be a 54-hole event with 18 holes played each day. Tee times will begin at 10:45 a.m. (ET) and all players will tee off on hole one.

North Ranch Country Club was finished in 1976 and designed by Ted Robinson. The country club features three distinct nine-hole courses with the tournament being held on the Lakes and Oaks courses. The Lakes Course was constructed in 1988 and is the longer of the nines, playing at 3,542 yards. The feature hole is No. 8, a 234-yard par 3 that is all carry over the water before you get to the green. The eighth hole of the Lakes Course was voted one of SoCal’s 18 toughest holes by Southland Golf Magazine. The Oaks Course is the shortest in length (3,400) but known as the more difficult nines due to inconsistent lies and the hazards off both sides of the fairway.

The Field
The 2021 Southwestern Invitational features a 12-team loaded field, with nine of the teams either ranked inside the Golfweek Top 25 or receiving votes. The field features top-ranked Pepperdine, Arizona State (No. 10), SMU (No. 19) and Georgia Tech (No. 20) inside the Top-25.

The Bucs are receiving votes in the latest coaches poll, as are: California, Louisville, Saint Mary’s and USC.

There are six individuals inside the latest GolfStat individual Top-50 (11/17/20), including four on Pepperdine’s roster. Dylan Menante of Pepperdine is the highest-ranked competitor in the field, coming in at No. 4.

ETSU’s Lineup
ETSU will use the lineup of 1) Trevor Hulbert; 2) Shiso Go; 3) Jack Rhea; 4) Archie Davies; and 5) Remi Chartier.
