AUGUSTA, Ga. (April 1, 2023) – Play was suspended at the Augusta Haskins Award Invitational on Saturday night from Forest Hills Golf Club.
With inclement weather rolling in during the early afternoon hours, teams were not able to complete the full 36 holes at the prestigious tournament. Teams were at the midway point of second-round play when the horn sounded due to darkness.
The Buccaneers, who are coming off back-to-back team wins, sit in fourth-place at -10 among the 15-team field that features eight programs ranked in the top-50 nationally.
Florida held the team lead when play was halted as the 12th-ranked Gators are sitting at -21, while No. 6 Illinois and No. 22 Virginia are tied for second at -16. No. 9 Texas is in fifth at -4 and No. 18 Oklahoma State and Central Florida are tied for sixth at -2.
The Blue & Gold are being paced by Archie Davies (Carlisle, England) and Mats Ege (Kristiansand, Norway) as they are tied for eighth at -3.
Illinois’ Adrien Dumont de Chassart, the No. 19 ranked player according to Golfstat, holds the top spot on the player leaderboard at -9. Four players are tied for second two shots off the lead at -7.
Algot Kleen (Fiskebackskil, Sweden) is tied for 13th at -2.
