(Feb. 13, 2007) - ETSU men's soccer head coach Scott Calabrese has announced try-outs for the Bucs first-ever men's soccer program set to begin varsity competition in 2008.  Try-outs will be held over two separate three-day periods, beginning February 20-22 and concluding February 26-28.  The first meeting will be held at 3:30 p.m. in the Basler Center lobby on the 20th.

"It's an exciting time for ETSU Soccer and I'm looking forward to getting the program moving in the right direction," said Calabrese.  "This is the first step in the process of selecting and forming a varsity soccer program here at ETSU."

The men's soccer program will compete as a club level team in the fall of 2007, and enter competition as a member of the Atlantic Sun Conference as a scholarship program in 2008.

"Already on campus there are many gifted soccer players who need an outlet for their talents and the ETSU Club Team will provide them with the opportunity to train and compete at a good level," said Calabrese.  "From this team I'm hoping to find several players who will have the talent, desire and character to be Division I athletes and join the inaugural team in the fall of 2008."
