Bucs picked third in preseason coaches’ poll
SPARTANBURG, S.C. (August 21, 2014) – With the regular season just a week away, ETSU men’s soccer players Emmanuel Wilson (Memphis, Tenn.) and Donte Brangman (Southampton, Bermuda) have been selected to the Southern Conference’s preseason all-conference team.
One of six ETSU players to appear in all 20 matches last season, Wilson was the Bucs’ leading goal-scorer en route to ETSU making its second NCAA Tournament appearance in four years. The Memphis, Tenn., product scored four goals and dished out two assists while helping the Bucs to their second Atlantic Sun title.
Brangman appeared in 18 of the Bucs’ 20 contests, amassing 951 minutes of play. The Southampton, Bermuda, native recorded one goal and one assist.
ETSU was one of just three teams to place multiple players on the preseason All-SoCon team. Furman and Wofford each saw four players selected to the team.

In addition to announcing its preseason all-conference team, the Southern Conference released the results of the preseason coaches’ poll, with the Bucs being picked to finish third in the league standings behind Furman and defending regular-season champion Wofford. ETSU received one first-place vote.

ETSU will play one final exhibition match Saturday, Aug. 23 at Virginia Tech before opening the regular season Friday, Aug. 29 versus William & Mary in Richmond, Va.
