JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Sept. 19, 2014) - The ETSU men's soccer team will go toe-to-toe with a Conference USA opponent for the third consecutive match, as the Bucs host South Carolina Saturday, Sept. 20 at 7:00 p.m.
GETTING UP TO SPEED
The Buccaneers (3-2) welcomed Conference USA opponent FIU to Summers-Taylor Stadium Tuesday, Sept. 16, with the Bucs earning a 2-1 victory.
Redshirt sophomore Joao Ramalho (Monte Santo, Brazil) scored the equalizing goal in the 23rd minute before redshirt freshman Cory Sauerwine (Oldsmar, Fla.) scored the game-winner in the 83rd minute, his first collegiate goal.
Ramalho, who has scored five of the Bucs' seven goals this season, currently ranks tied for fourth in the nation for goals per game (1.00).
ETSU is 29-13-9 (.657) all-time at Summers-Taylor Stadium.
South Carolina Gamecocks - Conference USA - Columbia, S.C.
Saturday, Sept. 20 at 7:00 p.m.
South Carolina earned the nation's No. 17 ranking after beginning the season with three consecutive victories; however, the Gamecocks have lost their last two matchups, falling at home to UNC-Wilmington and on the road against nationally-ranked Coastal Carolina.
Sophomore midfielder Kurtis Turner leads the Gamecocks (3-2) with two goals, while four other players have scored one goal.
