KANSAS CITY, Kan. (Dec. 3, 2014) - Continuing an impressive tradition of academic excellence, both the ETSU men's and women's soccer programs received the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Team Academic Award for the 2013-14 academic year.
This year marks the fourth consecutive season both ETSU squads have received the award, which is given to programs that maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
ETSU was one of 205 schools nationally—and one of just four Southern Conference institutions—to see both the men's and women's squad garner the distinction. Along with ETSU, SoCon members Furman, UNC Greensboro, and Mercer accomplished the feat.
The women's soccer program has received the award each of the past six seasons, and the men's team has received the award the last four years. During the 2013-14 academic year, the women's squad compiled a cumulative team GPA of 3.38, while the men maintained a 3.32 GPA.
