SPARTANBURG, S.C. (May 31, 2016) – With the completion of the spring seasons of league competition, ETSU’s men’s program has been awarded the Southern Conference’s Commissioner’s Cup, the all-sport trophy which goes to the conference’s best all-around men’s program.
Johnson City, Tenn. (March 17, 2016) – Head coach Bo Oshoniyi and the ETSU men’s soccer coaching staff announced Thursday morning their 2016 spring soccer schedule which includes eight matches on five days from late March to late April and is highlighted by hosting Louisville and Radford and traveling to Virginia Tech.

Macon, Ga. (Oct. 27, 2015) – The ETSU men's soccer team ended their three-game win streak and fall to Mercer 3-0 on the final road trip of the season on Tuesday in Macon, Ga.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Oct. 26, 2015) – The East Tennessee State University men’s soccer will wrap up their regular season road schedule on Tuesday as they travel to Macon, Ga. to square off with Mercer University. The Bucs are currently on a three game win streak and have outscored their opponents 8-2 in that span. ETSU is in fourth place in the conference with a 4-3-1 record. Mercer also has a 4-3-1 record in the conference but currently holds the tie-breaker from defeating the Bucs earlier this season.
Greenville, S.C. (Oct. 23, 2015) – The ETSU Bucs complete the upset over the top of the conference Paladins (6-5-3,5-2-1) on Friday night 2-0. The Bucs struck early and late in the game to get their second road win of the season and move to 7-5-2 overall and 4-3-2 in the conference.

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Oct. 20, 2015) – The East Tennessee State Bucs (6-5-2, 3-3-1) defeated the Wofford Terriers (8-4-2, 3-3-1) 3-2 on Tuesday night in Johnson City. ETSU found themselves behind and tied at several instances in the game but were able to overcome the deficit thanks to a two goal performance by sophomore Ben Holt (Knoxville, Tenn.).
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Oct. 19, 2015) – East Tennessee State men’s soccer will square off with Wofford and Furman this week in hopes to revenge from losses earlier this season. The Bucs lost in a heart breaker to Wofford 3-2 in double overtime and was later shutout by Furman 2-0 in Johnson City. The Bucs made up some ground this past weekend with every team this weekend picking up a tie or a loss. ETSU is just four points out of the second place UNCG and three points away from third place.
Lexington, Va. (Oct. 17, 2015) – The East Tennessee State University Bucs got back into the win column after pitching a 3-0 shutout on Saturday against Virginia Military Institute. Fletcher Ekern (Knoxville, Tenn.) played a part in all three goals today as he scored twice and assisted in one. The Bucs move to 5-5-2 overall and 2-3-1 in conference play, and the Keydets fall to 0-14 overall and 0-6 in conference.

Johnson City, Tenn. (Oct. 13, 2015) – The ETSU men’s soccer team fell at home on Tuesday to the Furman Paladins 2-0. Furman jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the 11th minute and never looked back, but ETSU had several chances on goal as they took 15 shots to Furman’s eight.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Oct. 12, 2015) – The ETSU men’s soccer finished last week going 0-1-1 with a 1-1 tie at UNCG and a 1-0 loss at home against Mercer. The Bucs look to regain momentum as Furman and VMI are the next two teams on the schedule for the Bucs this week.
Johnson City, Tenn. (Oct. 10, 2015) – The East Tennessee State University Buccaneers men’s soccer team fell to Mercer University on Saturday 1-0 after letting up a goal in the 77th minute. The Bucs finished the game outshooting the Bears by 13 shots, while allowing just two shots for Mercer.

Greensboro, N.C. (Oct. 6, 2015) – The ETSU men’s soccer team ended in a 1-1 tie against UNCG on Tuesday after going into another double overtime in Greensboro, N.C. This is the Bucs' third straight game that resulted in double overtime matches. Fletcher Ekern (Knoxville, Tenn.) tied the game up in the 80th minute after the Spartans led for almost 71 minutes.

(Oct. 5, 2015) – The ETSU men’s soccer continues their Southern Conference schedule, as the Bucs will face UNC-Greensboro on Oct. 6 in Greensboro, N.C. and Mercer on Oct. 10 in Johnson City, Tenn. The Bucs have start SoCon play 1-1 with a loss to Wofford in double overtime and a win over VMI 3-2.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Oct. 5, 2015) – A graduate student James Smith (Eastbourne, England) was honored on Monday as the September Player of the Month for men’s soccer in the Southern Conference. Smith was honored during the week of Sept. 14 as the SoCon player of the week with his one goal and one assist performance in the 3-1 victory over No. 23 Kentucky.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Oct. 2, 2015) – The East Tennessee State Bucs rallied after being down 2-1 to win 3-2 in two overtime periods. Mitchell Cecatiello (Pascagoula, Miss.) netted the game-tying goal in the 85th minute, and Christian Ilia (Norrkoping, Sweden) scored the game-winning goal in the second overtime session.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Sept. 29, 2015) – The ETSU men’s soccer team fell in their first Southern Conference game 3-2 in two overtime periods to Wofford College. The Bucs held a two-goal lead at the half but surrendered three straight goals to start their conference play.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Sept. 28, 2015) – On Monday, ETSU men’s soccer has been ranked 42nd by the NCAA in the rating percentage index (RPI) for Division I soccer. This is the second highest ranking for the team since the start of the program in 2008.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Sept. 28, 2015) – The ETSU men’s soccer team will kick off their conference schedule Tuesday, September 29 as they travel to Wofford College. The Bucs will then return home to face Virginia Military Institute on Friday, October 2. The Bucs have only accumulated one loss against both teams since 2008.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Sept. 24, 2015) – The ETSU men’s and women’s soccer teams were honored Thursday by being named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) College Team Academic Award for the 2014-15 season.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Sept. 22, 2015) – The East Tennessee State Bucs (3-2-1) finished their non-conference schedule with a 1-0 victory over the Liberty Flames (4-4) on Tuesday. ETSU scored the only goal off a penalty kick in the 80th minute.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Sept. 7, 2015) – The Southern Conference announced Tuesday that ETSU graduate student, James Smith (Eastbourne, England), was the player of the week for the week of September 14-20. He won this honor over two other nominees: Jeremy Booth of Mercer and Leeroy Maguraushe of UNCG.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Sept. 7, 2015) – ETSU is coming off a big win over the nationally ranked Kentucky Wildcats on September 16. The Bucs have now focused on their last non-conference opponent, the Liberty Flames, who comes to Summers-Taylor Stadium on September 22 at 5 p.m.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Sept. 16, 2015) – The East Tennessee State University men’s soccer team upended the nationally ranked Kentucky Wildcats at home, 3-1. ETSU was able to move back to 2-2-1 as the Wildcats fell to 2-2-1 on the season. Graduate student James Smith (Eastbourne, England) was the player of the game as he netted one goal and picked up an assist in the match.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Sept. 15, 2015) – ETSU men’s soccer will be hosting the nationally ranked Kentucky Wildcats at Summers-Taylor Stadium on September 16 at 7 p.m. The Bucs have played against the Wildcats the past three years and are 1-2 against UK.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Sept. 9, 2015) – The ETSU men’s soccer team fell in Boone, N.C. Wednesday night 2-1 against Appalachian State University. The Mountaineers came out with strong shooting as they netted two goals in the first half. ETSU could only retaliate with a goal by sophomore Fletcher Ekern (Knoxville, Tenn.) in the 67th minute. The Bucs drop to 1-2-1 on the season as the Mountaineers move to 1-1.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Sept. 8, 2015) – The men’s soccer team has been preparing for the Appalachian State Mountaineers on Sept. 9 at Ted Mackorell Soccer Complex at 7 p.m. The Bucs are 1-1-1, while the Mountaineers are 0-1 this season.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Sept. 7, 2015) – ETSU men’s soccer announced Monday the VMI match originally scheduled on October 3 has been moved to a double header on October 2 at 5 p.m.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Sept. 5, 2015) – The Buccaneer men’s soccer team played in two overtime periods and finished in a 1-1 tie Saturday night at Radford University. The Bucs scored first for the third straight game with a goal by Luke Parker (Memphis, Tenn.) in the 57th minute, but ETSU could not find the net again after the Highlanders tied the game.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Sept. 1, 2015) – The ETSU men’s soccer team defeated the Panthers of High Point University on Tuesday 2-0. The Bucs defense was impressive as they only allowed five shots, and graduate James Smith (Eastbourne, England) and sophomore Cameron Woodfin (Old Hickory, Tenn.) each picked up their first goals of the season.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Aug. 28, 2015) – The men’s soccer team led 1-0 at the half but faltered in the second half by allowing three goals within 19 minutes. The Bucs (0-1) suffer their first loss of the season while the Tigers (1-0) picked up their first win. Junior Joao Ramalho led the attack for ETSU with a goal, and freshman Jonny Sutherland gave the Bucs a fighting chance with eight saves on the night.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Aug. 27, 2015) – The men’s soccer team has been preparing all week for the nationally ranked Clemson University Tigers on Friday, August 28 at 7:30 p.m. The Bucs will start their season on the road in Clemson, S.C. at Riggs Field.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Aug. 22, 2015) –ETSU completed the comeback on Saturday night to defeat the Virginia Tech Hokies, 2-1. Graduate student James Smith (Eastbourne, England) led the Bucs with an assist to tie the game and scored the game-winning goal.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Aug. 21, 2015) – The ETSU men’s soccer team has been preparing for their final exhibition match against the Virginia Tech Hokies on Saturday, August 22 at 7 p.m at Summers-Taylor Stadium. Since the men’s soccer team started in 2008, the Bucs have met VT three times and are 2-0-1 against the Hokies.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Aug. 20, 2015) – Junior Joao Ramalho (Monte Santo, Brazil) was picked for the All-SoCon preseason team as the only ETSU representative on Thursday. Ramalho was the SoCon Player of the Year last year and was second in the conference with 24 points and 11 goals.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Aug. 19, 2015) – The ETSU men’s soccer team defeated the King Tornado 5-1 on Wednesday in their first exhibition match. The Bucs had five different players net goals in today’s matchup.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Aug. 18, 2015) – ETSU men’s soccer has moved tomorrow’s exhibition game against King University to 11 a.m.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Aug. 18, 2015) – Head coach Bo Oshoniyi completed the ETSU men’s soccer 2015-16 roster with the signing of 14 newcomers. The signing class consists of six transfers and eight freshmen.
