SPARTANBURG, S.C. (June 25, 2020) – It was another record-setting day for ETSU Athletics, this time thanks to the Southern Conference Honor Roll. The Bucs placed 262 student-athletes on the 2019-20 SoCon Honor Roll, blowing by the program’s previous record of 229 set in 2017-18. The SoCon office released the Honor Roll on Thursday morning.

(March 17, 2020) -- By unanimous votes of the league’s Council of Presidents and directors of athletics, the Southern Conference is canceling all athletics-related activities for the remainder of the 2019-20 academic year, including competition, championships, organized practices and meetings, due to the ongoing threat of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic, Commissioner Jim Schaus announced Tuesday.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (February 18, 2020) – ETSU Men’s Soccer Head Coach David Casper has promoted Josh Scott to the role of Associate Head Coach. Scott will begin his third season on the coaching staff with the Bucs in 2020.

SPARTANBURG, S.C. (Jan. 15, 2020) – The Southern Conference announced its Fall Academic All-Conference Team on Wednesday afternoon, as 36 ETSU student-athletes earned the academic honors for 2019.
SPARTANBURG, S.C. (Nov. 13, 2019) – ETSU redshirt sophomore Josh Perryman (Sheffield, England) earned Southern Conference Goalkeeper of the Year, the Southern Conference office announced Wednesday morning. Merveil Bilomba (Tours, France) joined Perryman on the All-SoCon First Team, while freshmen Hauk Andreas Fossen (Moelv, Norway) and Kieran Richards (Hamilton, New Zealand) grabbed nods on both the All-SoCon Second Team and All-SoCon Freshman Team.
GREENSBORO, N.C. (Nov. 8, 2019) – #6 Belmont played spoilers over the #3 ETSU men’s soccer team on Friday afternoon, grabbing a 2-0 win over the Bucs to knock them out of the Southern Conference Tournament in the quarterfinals in Greensboro.
GREENSBORO, N.C. (Nov. 7, 2019) – ETSU looks to duplicate results earlier in the season when the Bucs travel to Greensboro to take on the Belmont Bruins in postseason action on Friday afternoon at 1 p.m. The two sides faced each other in ETSU’s second last game of the regular season, the Bucs leaving with a late decider in double overtime to take the spoils. With the #2 seed, UNCG plays host to both the quarterfinal and semifinal matchup should the Bucs advance.
SPARTANBURG, S.C. (Nov. 3, 2019) – The Southern Conference announced the official bracket for the 2019 SoCon Men’s Soccer Championship tournament, as ETSU enters with the third seed and a first round bye.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Nov. 2, 2019) – Deciding the game for the second straight time in overtime fashion, the ETSU men’s soccer team ousted the Wofford Terriers on Saturday night in the final game of the regular season via a golden goal strike from Kieran Richards (Hamilton, New Zealand) in the 92nd minute. The win capped off senior night in fashion as the Bucs honored the six veterans playing their last match in Summers-Taylor Stadium.

(Nov. 1, 2019) – In the final game of the 2019 regular season, the ETSU men’s soccer team looks to secure a third place seed in the Southern Conference tournament on Saturday when taking on Wofford. The homecoming weekend will also see an opportunity to honor the seniors who will be playing their final contest at Summers-Taylor Stadium.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Oct. 29, 2019) – Despite a slow start to the match, the ETSU men’s soccer team grabbed a vital late goal from an unlikely hero in Dominic Foster (London, England) to see off the Belmont Bruins 1-0 in a double overtime contest in the battle of Volunteer State teams on Tuesday evening. The dramatic win shot the Bucs to 7-7-2 on the year with a 3-2 mark in conference play, while Belmont dropped to 3-9-2 and a 1-2-1 conference mark.
SPARTANBURG, S.C. (Oct. 29, 2019) – Entering the last week of the regular season, Merveil Bilomba (Tours, France) earned recognition by the conference office Tuesday afternoon as SoCon’s Defensive Player of the Week for his performances over the week.

(Oct. 28, 2019) – The ETSU men’s soccer team (6-7-2, 2-2 SoCon) look to avenge their last performance this past weekend, as they head to Belmont for the penultimate SoCon match of the regular season and their last road battle on Tuesday evening, taking on Belmont in Nashville at 7:30 p.m.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Oct. 28, 2019) – The Bucs Soccer Academy, LLC — operated by the ETSU men’s soccer coaching staff — announced its ID Clinic set to take place on Jan. 25, 2020.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Oct. 26, 2019) – After 294 minutes without a goal conceded by the Buccaneer defense, ETSU was undone by a late winner to fall in a SoCon matchup against the UNC Greensboro Spartans 1-0 on Saturday evening at Summers-Taylor Stadium. The result drops the Bucs to 6-7-2 (2-2-0 SoCon) on the year while UNCG sits at 6-8-1 (4-1-0 SoCon) to distance themselves in the top two of the standings.

(Oct. 25, 2019) – The ETSU men’s soccer team look to continue their recent form on Saturday evening, hosting the UNC Greensboro Spartans in a SoCon showdown at Summers-Taylor Stadium in a 7 p.m. kickoff. Fans are encouraged to pack the bleachers while wearing white in the annual white out game for the Bucs.

(Oct. 22, 2019) – Hauk Andreas Fossen’s (Moelv, Norway) seventh goal of the season paved the way for ETSU men’s soccer and their 2-0 clean sheet over the Mercer Bears on Tuesday evening. Fossen scored in his third consecutive game, grabbing the opener in all three matches. Kieran Richards (Hamilton, New Zealand) joined the scoring as the Bucs shoot up the conference standings with their second consecutive conference win and clean sheet.

LEXINGTON, Va. (Oct. 19, 2019) -- Three Buccaneers scored goals and redshirt sophomore keeper Josh Perryman (Sheffield, England) recorded his second clean sheet of the season as the ETSU men’s soccer team cruised to a 3-0 Southern Conference road win at VMI on Saturday afternoon from Patchin Field.
LEXINGTON, Va. (Oct. 18, 2019) – The ETSU men’s soccer team look to grab their first conference win and second win on the bounce when they travel to take on VMI in SoCon play on Saturday afternoon.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (Oct. 15, 2019) – In the non-conference finale Tuesday night in Charlotte, the ETSU men’s soccer team entered the remainder of SoCon action on a high after knocking off a Davidson side in a 2-1 scoreline at Alumni Soccer Stadium. The win moved the Bucs to 4-6-2 on the season while the Wildcats wrapped up their tough non-conference matchup with a 2-8-2 record.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (Oct. 14, 2019) – The ETSU men’s soccer team heads on the road to face Davidson on Tuesday evening, ending their non-conference portion of the season against the Wildcats in a 7 p.m. kickoff.
GREENVILLE, S.C. (Oct. 12, 2019) – ETSU men’s soccer suffered their third consecutive 1-0 defeat on Saturday evening, falling to the Furman Paladins in the conference opener at Stone Soccer Stadium. ETSU moves to 3-6-2 (0-1 SoCon on the season while the hosts move to a 7-5-1 (1-0 SoCon) mark on the year.
GREENVILLE, S.C. (Oct. 11, 2019) – The ETSU men’s soccer team opens their SoCon schedule this weekend, taking on the Furman Paladins in a road match on Saturday evening at Stone Soccer Stadium. It is the fifth time in their six years back in the conference that the Bucs start their conference campaign away from Summers-Taylor Stadium.

BOONE, N.C. (Oct. 1, 2019) – For the second straight time, the ETSU men’s soccer team received late game heroics to send their match into extra time and came out on the other side with a draw. The Bucs played the Mountaineers of Appalachian State to a 2-2 draw at Appalachian Soccer Stadium on Tuesday evening, moving their season mark to 3-3-2. App State collected their first draw of the season, moving to 6-2-1.

(Sept. 27, 2019) – The ETSU men’s soccer team (3-3) prepares for a home-and-away trip over the next four days, as the Bucs take on Georgia State at Summers-Taylor Stadium on Saturday at 7 p.m. before taking the short trip to Boone, N.C. for a matchup against Appalachian State on Tuesday evening.

With the win, the Bucs move to 3-3 on the year.

(September 18, 2019) – ETSU men’s soccer made it to national media on Tuesday evening, as sophomore goalkeeper Josh Perryman (Sheffield, England) made two phenomenal saves, including an initial penalty stop, in the span of seconds to retain the Bucs clean sheet over Presbyterian in a 3-0 win.

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (August 24, 2019) –ETSU men’s soccer concluded their preseason buildup Saturday evening at Summers-Taylor Stadium, playing Radford to a 0-0 draw after 90 minutes. The Bucs rounded out their preseason by not conceding a single goal along with their 2-0 win over Asheville on Monday.
SPARTANBURG, S.C. (Aug. 21, 2019) – The Southern Conference announced its preseason men’s conference rankings and all-conference teams, Thursday afternoon. There were three Buccaneers present on the all-conference team in Bruno Andrade (Sao Paulo, Brazil), Merveil Bilomba (Tours, France) and John Lucchesi (Johnson City, Tenn.). The Bucs received 27 votes to place third in the preseason standings.
ASHEVILLE, N.C. (Aug. 19, 2019) – In the opening contest of preseason, the Bucs grabbed a win Saturday night over UNC Asheville behind a Josh Denton goal in the 55th minute.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Aug. 6, 2019) -- bioPURE Services announced on Tuesday that East Tennessee State University Athletics recently became a bioPURE Certified TMathletic facility. This certification means that ETSU athletes will experience a higher level of clean and disinfection in high-use locations like the weight room and the various locker rooms throughout the athletic complex.
