Southern Conference Announces Men’s Soccer Preseason All-Conference Team 

SPARTANBURG, S.C. (Aug. 17, 2022) – In a release issued by the Southern Conference Tuesday afternoon, the Buccaneers’ representative on the 11-man Preseason All-Southern Conference team was junior forward Tarik Pannholzer (Flensburg, Germany).

Starting all 15 games for the Blue and Gold in 2021, Pannholzer scored 10 goals in seven matches. His 10 goals were the second-most in single-season school history. Earning First Team All-Southern Conference honors in 2021, Pannholzer ranked 26th nationally in total goals scored. He ranked 16th in shots on goals per game with 1.73 and 17th in goals per game.   

After a fifth-place finish in the 2021 campaign, ETSU was picked to finish fourth in the men’s soccer preseason coaches poll behind Mercer and Furman, who were both tied for second. UNC Greensboro was picked to finish first, earning five first place votes. Tied for second, Mercer received the only other first place vote. Rounding out the list, Wofford was picked to finish fifth and VMI was picked to finish sixth.
