Friday, October 5, 2007

TULSA, Okla. (Oct. 5, 2007) - The historic run of Buccaneer duo Sebastian Serrano (Cartagena, Colombia) and Enrique Olivares (Puerto Ordaz, Venezuela) came to an end Friday as they fell in Round of 16 to 17th-ranked Travis Helgeson and Nate Schnugg of Georgia, 8-6.

"In the match it was close the whole way through and they had their chances. Overall, it was a good match and in the end Georgia's team just proved to be a little bit stronger," said assistant coach Johan Dorfh.

Serrano and Olivares made a historic run earlier this week winning three qualifying matches to earn a spot in the main draw. They also defeated the fourth-ranked doubles team from Texas in the first round of the main draw.

"It's never fun when you lose but these guys can leave the tournament with their heads held high because they put on a great performance throughout. I could not be happier with the way they competed," added Dorfh.

The Bucs will return to action on October 12 as they travel to compete in the USC Fall Invitational in Columbia, South Carolina.
