TULSA, Okla. (Sept. 29, 2007) - Senior Sebastian Serrano (Cartagena, Colombia) advanced in the second round of the pre-qualifying draws of the Ralph Lauren ITA All-American Championships at the University of Tulsa.
Serrano earned a first round bye of the pre-qualifying draw before taking on Auburn's Pawel Dilaj. He defeated Dilaj in straight sets, 6-3, 6-4. He will face either David Gonzales of Pacific or The Citadel's James Eason in the third round at 10 a.m. CST.
"Sebastian played a solid match today. He could have put it away a little earlier had a good lead in the second set but I think he got a little nervous, but he was able to close it out," said assistant coach Johan Dorfh. "Dilaj from Auburn is a very great player and it was a pretty good match and Sebastian will just look to step it up again tomorrow."
The Ralph Lauren ITA All-American Championships offers the first national titles for the 2007-08 season.
