ATHENS,
Senior Enrique Olivares (
"Enrique, Alex (Ahlgren) and Danny (Daniel Isaza) are going to lead this team," said head coach Yaser Zaatini. Enrique is playing well right now. This is a young team and his leadership is key for us to get better and succeed this season."
Also in action Sunday was sophomore Matej Zlatkovic. Zlatkovic stayed alive, in the consolation bracket, by defeating the College of Charleston's number one seeded player, Mickael Boyer, 6-1,5-7,1-0 (10-7).
"Even though Matej record is not great right now, he playing really good tennis," said Zaatini. "I've thrown every new guy into the fire in these opening two tournaments. Every one of those players have shown a lot of heart and courage and continues to work hard. As a coach that's all you can ask for your team to do. Winning and losing are important, but during this fall season I'm looking for what type of attitude and effort our players bring to the courts day-in and day-out. If you look at the competition in our first two tournaments each guy is learning how to play at a top level throughout an entire tournament. "
