WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (Oct. 14, 2012) – Fernando Amon (Buenos Aires, Argentina) and Connor Knox (Bristol, Tenn.) wrapped up the Wake Forest Fall Invitational on Sunday, but were defeated in their respective singles matches.
Amon lost two close sets, dropping two tiebreaks to Richmond’s Will Welte 7-6 (7-5), 7-6 (7-2), in the D1 Singles Flight fifth-place match. Knox could not overcome Furman’s Ben Horst, dropping his D2 Singles Flight 11th-place match 6-4, 6-2.
The ETSU duo did end the doubles portion on a positive note, defeating Longwood’s Elston and Sankar 9-7.
The Bucs now look ahead to the USTA/ITA Ohio Valley Regional Championships, beginning Friday in Memphis, Tenn.
