Biosca gets ranked win on Day One of ITA All-American qualies

TULSA, Okla. (Sept. 29, 2014) - ETSU sophomore men's tennis player David Biosca (Sant Fruitos de Bage, Spain) picked up an upset win over 84th-ranked Tyler Lu of Yale in the first round of qualifying at the 2014 Saint Francis Health System ITA Men's All-American Championships in Tulsa, Okla., Monday.

Biosca, who is ranked 95th, took down Lu in straight sets, 7-6 (2), 6-1, to advance to the second round of qualifying, where he will take on AJ Catanzariti of Texas A&M Tuesday.

Also in action Monday was fellow ETSU sophomore Diego Nunez (Monterrey, Mexico), who was narrowly edged in three sets by Texas' Adrien Berkowicz, 3-6, 7-6 (2), 6-0.

The qualifying stage of the tournament will conclude Oct. 1, with the Main Draw taking place Oct. 2-6. All matches will be played at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center in Tulsa.
