CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (Oct. 4, 2014) - One day after two ETSU doubles teams won flight titles, the Bucs sent three players to the semifinals of their respective singles flights at the UVa Fall Invite Saturday in Charlottesville, Va.

Sebastian Yllera (Cinco Saltos, Argentina), Ismael Merino (Lima, Peru), and Ricardo Pabon (Bogota, Columbia) each advanced to the semifinal round of their respective singles flights Saturday during Day Two of the three-day UVa Fall Invite.

Yllera and Merino each picked up hard-fought, three-set wins in their quarterfinal matches, with Yllera defeating Diego Castano of Liberty, 4-6, 6-4, 6-2, and Merino knocking off Aaron Capitel of George Mason, 2-6, 6-4, 6-0.

Saturday's successes followed up impressive Day One showings by Yllera and Merino.

Friday, Yllera teamed with Conner Huertas (Lima, Peru) to win the Blue Doubles flight title, while Merino paired with Rogerio Ribeiro (Sao Paulo, Brazil) to win the White Doubles title.

Like Yllera and Merino, Pabon also advanced to a singles semifinal round, defeating opponents from UMBC (Maryland, Baltimore County) and Cornell to advance to the semifinals of the Black Singles flight.

The final day of competition at the UVa Fall Invite will take place Sunday, Oct. 5.
