JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Nov. 21, 2014) - Alongside its successes on the court, the ETSU men's tennis team has made a habit of excelling in the classroom, earning ITA All-Academic Team honors the past four seasons.

Friday, the Bucs shared their passion for learning at Lake Ridge Elementary School, spending the morning reading to students—an activity both the student-athletes and elementary students enjoyed.

"I'm proud of the way our guys seemed to appreciate this opportunity," ETSU head coach Yaser Zaatini said. "They made the students laugh, learn, and have a different experience. This is what being a Buccaneer is all about."

Last season, ETSU saw three players earn Atlantic Sun All-Academic Team status—more than any other A-Sun member instituation—including Scholar Athlete of the Year Ismael Merino. Friday, the Bucs' focus was on emphasizing the importance of learning to potential future honor students.

"The guys did a great job with the kids," Zaatini said. "They shared their time, knowledge, and experience with the future adults of this wonderful area."
