Weather pushes Winthrop match indoors to Bristol; start time set for Friday at noon
BRISTOL, Tenn. (March 5, 2015) - Winners of its last two matches, the ETSU men's tennis team will continue non-conference play Friday, March 6, taking on Winthrop at 12:00 p.m., inside the Bristol Racquet & Fitness Club in Bristol, Tenn. For directions to the facility, click here.
The Buccaneers (3-6) will enter Friday's showdown coming off of a 7-0 rout of Tennessee Tech in a match also played at the Bristol Racquet & Fitness Club.
All six ETSU players picked up straight-set singles wins against Tennessee Tech, including co-captains Rogerio Ribeiro (Sao Paulo, Brazil) and Ismael Merino (Lima, Peru), and Robert Herrera (Barcelona, Spain), who each extended their singles win streaks to two matches.
The doubles tandem of Merino and Herrera has won three consecutive matches since pairing up versus Friday, Feb. 13 at No. 36 Texas Tech.
At 5-3 on the season, Winthrop has posted wins in three of its last four matches. The Eagles are 1-2 this season in road or neutral-site matches.
