ETSU to celebrate Senior Day prior to Friday's match vs. The Citadel
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (April 16, 2015) - The No. 68 ETSU men's tennis team will look to extend its eight-match win streak this weekend as the Bucs close out the regular season by hosting league opponents The Citadel and Furman. The league-leading Buccaneers, winners of 11 of their last 12 matches, are 5-0 in SoCon play this season.
Entering the weekend, ETSU and Furman are tied atop the Southern Conference standings with unbeaten, 5-0 leage marks.
Prior to Friday's match, ETSU will honor the contributions of outgoing senior Fernando Amon (Buenos Aires, Argentina).

GETTING UP TO SPEED
Since enduring a challenging non-conference slate that featured five ranked opponents within ETSU's first seven matches, the 68th-ranked Buccaneers (12-7, 5-0 SoCon) have posted a 11-1 record, with the lone loss coming on the road to No. 5 Georgia.
Three ETSU players are in the midst of singles win streaks spanning at least six matches: David Biosca (Sant Fruitos de Bage, Spain), and co-captains Ismael Merino (Lima, Peru) and Rogerio Ribeiro (Sao Paulo, Brazil).
Biosca, the reigning SoCon Player of the Week, has won a team-best eight consecutive matches, running his overall record to 12-5. Merino and Ribeiro are in the midst of seven and six-match win streaks, respectively.
Meanwhile, Sebastian Yllera (Cinco Saltos, Argentina) has won five straight matches in singles play.
Biosca, Merino, Ribeiro, Yllera are each unbeaten in SoCon singles play.
OPPONENTS AT A GLANCE
The Citadel Bulldogs (2-27, 0-5 SoCon) are 2-18 in road or neautral-site matches this season. The Bulldogs were last in action April 12, falling to No. 13 Wake Forest 7-0.
Meanwhile, the Furman Paladins (7-14, 5-0 SoCon) joins ETSU as the other unbeaten team in the Southern Conference. Furman last took the court Sunday, April 12, earning a 6-1 victory over SoCon opponent UNC Greensboro.
