ETSU to visit No. 14 Virginia Tech for NCAA First Round matchup

INDIANAPOLIS (April 28, 2015) - As announced by the NCAA Tuesday, the Southern Conference Champion ETSU men's tennis team will visit 15th-seeded and 14th-ranked Virginia Tech Friday, May 8 for an NCAA Division I Men's Tennis Championship First Round match in Blacksburg, Va.

The Buccaneers (17-7) finished the season with 13 consecutive wins en route to winning the program's ninth-consecutive conference tournament championship, securing an automatic berth to the national tournament for a ninth-straight year.

ETSU, one of just three teams representing the state of Tennessee in the tournament (Vanderbilt, Tennessee), will open play by visiting ACC opponent Virginia Tech. The Hokies (19-4) finished second in the ACC behind league champion and fifth-ranked Virginia and received an at-large bid into the tournament.

The Bucs have twice earned first-round wins in the NCAA Championship, beating No. 26 Notre Dame in 2008, and No. 32 Alabama in 2010.
