CHARLESTON, S.C. (April 13, 2018) – The Buccaneer men’s tennis team will travel to Charleston, S.C. to take on The Citadel Bulldogs on Saturday, April 14 at 10:00 a.m. This will conclude the regular season for the Bucs. ETSU has already clinched the regular season, but a win tomorrow would be a perfect 7-0 record in conference action.
About the Bucs
ETSU holds a 12-7 record coming into the match. Sergi Fontcuberta (Barcelona, Spain) leads the Bucs with a 14-4 record, followed by David Gonzalez (Barcelona, Spain) who holds a 13-2 record in singles. Senior Robert Herrera (Barcelona, Spain) continues to dominate for the Bucs to help his team to a 67-35 record in singles. In doubles, Fontcuberta and Gonzalez are currently undefeated with a 4-0 record. As a team, the Bucs are 30-22 in doubles.
About The Citadel
The Bulldogs enter Saturday’s match with a 9-22 overall record and are 0-5 in the SoCon. They have lost their last three matches, including two losses coming from Wofford and UNCG. Five Bulldogs have records with double figure wins to help the Bulldogs to a 78-109 record in singles. In doubles, The Citadel has used multiple combinations to hold a 24-63 record.
