Bucs capture All-Academic Team recognition

TEMPE, Ariz. (July 27, 2020) – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) has announced its 2020 All-Academic Team and the scholar athletes. For the second consecutive season, the ETSU Men’s Tennis claimed a spot on the All-Academic Team, in addition to four Buccaneers being named ITA Scholar Athletes.

Individually, Dylan Bednarczyk (Ontario, Canada), Miguel Este (Caracas, Venezuela), Juan Lugo (Maracay, Venezuela) and Chris Mikrovas (Athens, Greece) were named Scholar Athletes with a GPA of 3.5 or above for the academic year. This is the third consecutive honor for Lugo and Mikrovas, while marking the second distinguished honor for Este.

The ITA All-Academic Team award is open to any ITA program that has a cumulative team grade point average of 3.20 or above (on a 4.00 scale). All varsity letter winners should be factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year.

In order to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status a player must meet the following criteria: 1.) have a grade point average of at least 3.50 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year, and 2.) be listed on the institutional eligibility form.
