TULSA, Okla. (Oct. 2, 2021) – After a one-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the ITA All-American Championship is back in action hosted by Tulsa in Tulsa, Okla. The tournament will begin today (Oct. 2) and will conclude on Sunday, Oct. 10. ETSU’s Dimitri Badra (Maracay, Venezuela) will be representing the Bucs in the ITA All-American Championship.
Badra will not take the court until Monday, Oct. 4 when he will begin the qualifying draw as one of the final 128 singles competitors remaining in the field. The qualifying round will run from Monday, Oct. 4 and will conclude Tuesday, Oct. 5. The main draw, featuring the final 64 singles players, will begin on Wednesday, Oct. 6 and will conclude on Sunday, Oct. 10.
Badra has only appeared in one tournament this fall (ITA Regionals), winning one match due to an injury before falling in the second round after an injury of his own. The reigning Southern Conference Player/Freshman of the Year is currently ranked 53rd in the latest ITA rankings and is coming off a dominant season in which he finished 14-5 in singles play during the spring.
