TULSA, Okla. (Oct. 5, 2021) – The ITA All-American Championship was short-lived for ETSU redshirt-sophomore Dimitri Badra (Maracay, Venezuela).
The reigning Southern Conference Player of the Year began the tournament in the qualifying draw, squaring off against Tim Zeitvogel of Pepperdine. It took three sets for Zeitvogel to claim the victory, holding off Badra, 6-1, 3-6, 6-2.
The Venezuela native then set his focus on advancing out of the qualifying consolation draw to reach the main draw, but had to go through Nicolas Rousset of Arkansas. Rousset ended Badra’s run in the ITA All-American Championship with a 6-1, 6-2 victory.
Badra and the Bucs will be back in action on Friday, Oct. 15 when they travel to Louisville, Ky. for the Louisville Invitational.
