The Bucs captured the doubles point against the Ragin’ Cajuns, winning in both the No. 1 and No. 2 singles slot. Rengifo and Zabala bested Karlo Kajin and Al Sanchez Gonzalez by the final of 6-2 to get things started for the Bucs. ETSU then captured the doubles point after Dimitri Badra (Maracay, Venezuela) and Francisco Lamas (Maracay, Venezuela) upended Orio Fillat Giminez and Vasil Dimitrov, 6-4, from the No. 2 slot.

Louisiana turned it on in singles play after the Bucs were forced to alter the lineup following an injury. The Ragin’ Cajuns won the first two singles matches from the No. 1 and No. 6 positions to take the 2-1 advantage over the Blue & Gold.

However, ETSU responded with two singles wins of its own to reclaim the one-point advantage. Zabala evened the match with a 7-5, 6-4 win in the No. 5 slot over Calin Postea. Shortly after, Pernas earned a strong three-set thriller over Kacper Dworak in the No. 4 slot. Pernas dropped the first set 6-3 before pushing through for back-to-back 6-1 set wins to give ETSU the 3-2 lead.

Unfortunately for the upset-minded Bucs, Louisiana claimed the final two singles matches. The Ragin’ Cajuns won the final two matches in three-set fashion from the No. 2 and No. 3 slots to steal the 4-3 win away from the Bucs.
