Bucs wrap up play at Duke Bonk Invitational  

CARY, N.C. (Sept. 18, 2022) – The ETSU men’s tennis team concluded play in the 2022 Duke Bonk Invitational, which was held this weekend in Cary, N.C. The Bucs sent four players to the season-opening tournament and finished with three combined victories – all coming in singles play.

After losing his first match, Adam Nagoudi (Tunis, Tunisia) won his consolation quarterfinals match 5-7, 7-6, 14-12 against Elon opponent Nicholas Campbell.

In the C draw, Juan Lombisano (Buenos Aires, Argentina) won his first match 1-6, 6-3,  6-4 over VCU opponent, Sam Baugartner. Moving onto his quarterfinal match, Lombisano lost to the No. 1 seed in the draw.

Making his collegiate debut, Pedro Cressoni (Sao Paulo, Brazil) won his first match in three sets 6-1, 2-6 and 6-2 in the men’s singles C draw on Friday.

In doubles competition, the duo of Dimitri Badra (Maracay, Venezuela) and Cressoni represented the Bucs in the doubles B draw. The duo was unable to win a match. Nagoudi and Limbisano represented the Blue and Gold in the C draw, who were also unable to win a match throughout the competition.

The Bucs will be back in action in the ITA Regionals in Louisville, Ky. beginning on Thursday, October 13. The ITA Regionals will conclude on Monday, October 17.
