STARKVILLE, Miss. (Jan. 16, 2023) – The ETSU men’s tennis team wrapped up the weekend with a 0-4 neutral site loss against South Alabama on Sunday afternoon in Starkville.
The only match won for the Bucs on Sunday came in doubles competition as Peter Kalocsai (Hungary) and Thiago Pernas (Buenos Aires, Argentina) knocked off No. 16 Jack Clements/Louis Delcour from South Alabama, 6-4.
Spending the weekend in Starkville, Pernas led ETSU with three wins, going 2-0 on Saturday and winning his only match finished on Sunday in doubles. His singles match with South Alabama’s No. 123 ranked Sebastien Collard went unfinished with spilt sets of 7-5.
As the opening weekend concluded, the Bucs finished with a total of six set wins, four of which Pernas was involved in.
