Bucs face second power-five program of the year  

CLEMSON, S.C. (Jan. 20, 2023) – The ETSU men’s tennis team will look to end its two-game skid on Saturday as they travel to Clemson, S.C. to take on ACC opponent Clemson at noon. Playing in their third match of the young season, the Bucs make the trip to Clemson for the second straight year with hopes for a different result.

ABOUT THE BUCS

  • The Bucs enter the matchup with an 0-2 record in consecutive seasons.
  • Thiago Pernas (Buenos Aires, Argentina) is currently 3-0 in finished matches, while going 2-0 with his doubles mate Peter Kalocsai (Hungary).
  • As a team, the Bucs have secured one point in two matches.
  • Pernas and Kalocsai defeated the ITA’s No. 16 ranked duo last weekend.

  • The Tigers enter the matchup with a 2-0 record, knocking off fellow SoCon foes Furman and Wofford a weekend ago at home.
  • As a team, the Tigers have only dropped two sets in two matches.
  • The two squads met a year ago on Sunday, Jan. 23, 2022 where Clemson came out on top 6-1.
