Bucs look for first win Friday  

DURHAM, N.C. (Feb. 9, 2023) – The ETSU men’s tennis team hits the road for the seventh consecutive match as they take on Duke in Durham, N.C. on Friday at 4 p.m. Facing back-to-back Power 5 opponents, the Bucs look to erase a six-game skid.

  • ETSU enters the matchup with an 0-6 record, playing all six matches on the road.
  • Three of the six losses came against Power 5 opponents.
  • The Bucs have a total of six singles wins and five as doubles.
  • The doubles pair of Peter Kalocsai (Hungary) and Thiago Pernas (Buenos Aires, Argentina) are 3-1 in all finished competitions.


  • Duke enters the match with a 5-3 overall record and are 3-2 at home.
  • The Blue Devils have two ranked losses, first to No. 16 Harvard and then to No.23 Northwestern last weekend.
  • As a team, Duke is 33-19 in singles and 14-8 in doubles.
  • Freshman Pedro Rodenas has an 8-1 overall record.
