Bucs notch fifth straight victory  

GREENSBORO, N.C. (March 12, 2023) – The ETSU men’s tennis team notched its fifth consecutive win as the Buccaneers blanked UNCG, 7-0, on Sunday afternoon at the Piedmont Indoor Tennis Center in Greensboro, N.C.

Cruising to their first road victory of the season, the Bucs dominated the entire match on Sunday. The visiting Bucs won 15 of the 16 sets and captured five of the six singles matches in straight sets.

With their first sweep of the year, the Blue and Gold improved to 2-0 in conference play and 5-8 overall, while UNCG dipped to 0-2 in SoCon play and 4-10 on the year.

The duo of Pedro Cressoni (Buenos Aires, Argentina) and Francisco Lamas (Maracay, Venezuela) eased past Harrison Gwynn and Devon Moskowitz, 6-2 to claim their team-best fifth win as a pair. Dimitri Badra (Maracay, Venezuela) and Adam Nagoudi (Tunis, Tunisia) secured the doubles point after battling their way to a 6-4 victory over David Flisberg and John Gabelic.

Winning a fifth consecutive top flight match in straight sets, Badra rolled his way to a 6-1 set two victory after outlasting Flisberg 7-6 in the first set. Erasing his personal four-match skid, Lamas knocked off Christopher Jones in straight sets, 6-3, 6-4 en route to earning his third singles win of the campaign.

Nagoudi fought for his third straight win of the season in a three-set victory over Tymofiy Khrystyuk. After losing the second set, 2-6, Nagooudi sailed to a 6-2 clinching win in the final set. Returning to the win column, Thiago Pernas (Buenos Aires, Argentina) poured in a straight-set victory (6-3, 7-5) performance to aid the Blue and Gold to another regular-season conference victory over the Spartans.
