Johnson City, Tenn. -- The East Tennessee State track & field team will be in action Mar. 28-31 as they travel to Gainesville, Fla. to take part in the Florida Relays hosted by the University of Florida.
The Bucs, coming off a great showing at the Clemson Relays, will be looking to senior Evan Hawkins and junior Roseline Addo to turn heads at this weekends event. Addo will be looking to make a strong appearance in the 400 meter invitational race as will fellow teammate Jennifer Howard. Hawkins will race in the 200 meter and 400 meter invitational races. Josh Artau will look for a strong showing in the invitational javelin and Lauren Campbell will run in the collegiate 1500 meters.
"This is a great meet where the competition is at its greatest level," said ETSU assistant track & field coach Matt High. "This is a type of meet that will show us how we rank on a national level. I feel that Evan (Hawkins) has a tremendous opportunity to qualify for the nationals."
The Bucs will be joining fellow Southern Conference members The Citadel, Georgia Southern, and Western Carolina in the field. Other national powers that are participating include Clemson, Wake Forest, Florida State, Miami, Kansas State and the host, University of Florida.
