East Tennessee State Indoor Track and Field Competes in SoCon Indoor Championships

Indoor Track:

The Southern Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships concluded this afternoon from Memorial Center with several titles won by ETSU atheletes.

Roseline Addo successfully defended her SoCon title in the 400-meters with a time of 56.92. Fellow Buccaneer Jennifer Howard finished in second. Addo also finished third in the 200 meters.

The ETSU 4x400 team of Howard, Natasha Peyton, Keitha Nelson and Addo won their event and broke a ten year old conference record with their time of 3:49.11.

On the men’s side, senior Evan Hawkins won his first SoCon 200-meter title with a time of 21.55. Hawkins also finished second in the 400. Senior Jason Farr won the men’s high jump with a mark of 6'09.00”.

The ETSU women finished fourth in the meet with 52 points, 78 behind champion Appalachian State. The ETSU men also finished fourth in the championships with 53 points, 93 behind champion VMI.
