CULLOWHEE, N.C. (May 1, 2005) - The East Tennessee State University track and field team finished competition at the 2005 Southern Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships at the new Track and Field complex on the campus of Western Carolina University on Sunday afternoon. Both the men's and women's teams finished the two day event in fifth place. The day saw two Buccaneers Nichola Cornish (Spartanburg, S.C.) and Shane Estes (Maryville, Tenn.) win conference titles in the 400 meters and high jump respectively....

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (April 16, 2005) - Senior Nichola Cornish (Spartanburg, S.C.) earned a NCAA regional qualifying mark in the 400 meters at the Sea Ray Relays held this weekend on the University of Tennessee's campus. Cornish recorded time of 54.39 on Friday's competition in the event for 10th place, which is also an ETSU school record for the outdoor event and replaces her previous best of 54.60 set by Cornish last season. This is the second consecutive year that Cornish has reached an NCAA regional qualifying mark in the 400 meters (54.61)....
CLEMSON, S.C. (April 9, 2005) - The Buccaneer women sprinters Chantelle Vernon (Markham, Ontario), Ebonie Jones (Richmond, Va.), and Jenny Knox (Connelly Springs, N.C.) recorded solid performances in their events at the Clemson Invitational on Saturday. Vernon competed in the 100 meters and finished seventh with a time of 12.12 a season best, while Jones competed in the 200 meters and finished tied for eighth with a time of 24.85. Knox competed in both events and recorded collegiate bests. She placed tenth in the 100 meters (12.31) and tied for eighth in the 200 meters (24.85)....
