CULLOWHEE, N.C. (March 4, 2006) - The ETSU track and field squads began a busy weekend of action on Friday, competing at the Western Carolina Invitational.
Freshman Antoinette Smith (Lynchburg, Va.) managed the highest place finish on the day, throwing 35-2 � in the shot put, good for eighth place. Freshman Justin White (Athens, Tenn.) also placed eight in the shot put, recording a mark of 41-5 �.
Other Buccaneer competitors included Dedra McDaniel (North Tazwell, Va.), 10th in the shot put, and Raymond Johnson (Georgetown, Tenn.) and Bradley Jones (Spruce Pine, N.C.), who finished 12th and 13th in the shot.
Action continues tomorrow with portions of the squad continuing at Western Carolina, while others will see action at the Liberty Invitational, in Lynchburg, Va.
