After posting a season-best time of 40.17 in Friday's prelims, the 4x100-meter relay crew entered Saturday's finals banged up. The team of James Rainer (Alcoa, Tenn.), Johnny Tucker (Spartanburg, S.C.), Chris Harrison (Woodbridge, Va.) and Mike Wright (Chattanooga, Tenn.) who was filling in for an injured Derek Carey (Nassau, Bahamas) finished seventh overall with a time of 41.28. Louisiana State took the top honors finishing in 39.53.

"We entered the race with expectations high however the guys just didn't run the way they wanted to. But to reach the finals in the regional meet is a fine accomplishment," said associate head coach Michelle Byrne.
