MACON, Ga. (Feb. 4, 2009) - After cruising her way to another record time in the mile on Saturday at the 31st Niswonger Invitational, senior transfer Heidi Dahl (Orem, Utah) was named Atlantic Sun Athlete of the Week for the third time this season, announced Wednesday by the league office.

The Buccaneer faithful got an up close and personal look at the ninth fastest miler in the collegiate level, as her time of 4:43.85, not only won the event but broke her previous ETSU and NCAA Provisional mark (4:47.39) - which was set two weeks ago at Kentucky. Dahl blew away the 15-woman field as Wake Forest's Anna Nosenko finished second with a time of 4:56.07.

Dahl has competed in three meets this season for the Bucs and has been named A-Sun Athlete of the Week all three times.

ETSU returns to action this weekend when the Buccaneers compete at the Virginia Tech Invitational. The two-day meet begins on Friday, Feb. 6 in Blacksburg.
