All-American runner has chance to represent Team USA at the IAAF World Championships

EUGENE, Ore. (June 24, 2009) - Senior Lady Buccaneer distance runner Heidi Dahl (Orem, Utah) has only competed on the ETSU Track & Field team for one season; however, during this short time period the senior student-athlete has accomplished a plethora of outstanding achievements.

On Thursday evening inside one of the most hallowed sites in the sport - Hayward Field - Dahl will add another accolade to the list when she runs in the 1500m at the 2009 USA Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Dahl hits the track - which has been the site of the '72, '76, '80, and the 2008 U.S. Olympic Team Trials - at 9:45 Eastern Time.

Dahl qualified for this prestigious meet two weeks ago when she posted a time of 4:14.92 in the prelims of the 2009 NCAA Outdoor Championships. The Orem, Utah native finished sixth in the finals and received All-American status following the race in Fayetteville, Ark.

The 2009 Atlantic Sun Conference champion will look to qualify for the finals of the 1500m, which takes place on Saturday at 9:11 Eastern Time. The top three finishers in the event who have recorded the "A" qualifying standard will earn a berth to the 2009 IAAF World Championships in Berlin, Germany this August.
