Rotich, Ronoh highlight Bucs on day two of Florida Relays
Saturday, April 4, 2009

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (April 4, 2009) - Cousins Kenneth Rotich (Nairobi, Kenya) and Ben Ronoh (Sotik, Kenya) made their season debut in the 5000m on Saturday afternoon and the ETSU Buccaneer duo put together stellar performances inside James G. Pressly Stadium at the 2009 Florida Relays.

Ronoh, who edged out Rotich in both the 3000m and 5000m events at the 2009 Atlantic Sun Indoor Conference Championships, went on to claim Most Outstanding Track Performer accolades at the post-race ceremonies back in February.

However, on Saturday at the Percy Beard Track, Rotich cruised his way past his cousin to a second-place finish in the 5000m. Rotich turned in a time of 14:36.17 and was beaten by Mississippi's Kyle Lewis' time of 14:22.75. Meanwhile, Ronoh finished with an impressive time of 15:00.18 and ended in sixth.

Rotich and Ronoh also managed to turn in the fastest times in the event amongst conference foes this season.

The ETSU track and field team returns to action next weekend when the Bucs compete at both the Sea Relays and Furman Invitational.
