JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Jan. 13, 2010) - The ETSU men's and women's Track and Field teams are set to head to Blacksburg, Va. Friday for the Virginia Tech Invitational.
The two-day meet includes 13 running events and seven field events for both men and women and will feature schools like Florida State, Arkansas, Virginia Tech, North Carolina, N.C. State, Virginia, Charlotte and East Carolina.
The meet is scheduled to begin on Friday at 5 p.m. with events slated to go till 8:30 p.m., while Saturday's events will start at 11:00 a.m. and conclude around 4:30 p.m.
"We are very excited to open up the New Year at the Virginia Tech Invitational," said assistant coach Eli Sunquist. "Historically this has been a great meet with some very good competition from around the south east region. We are looking forward to the opportunity to go up against some very quality individuals and teams, and see how we measure up. Both the athletes and staff are very excited to go to Blacksburg to get the 2011 season underway."
