Posts a mark of 6.13 meters to take first in the event

SEWANEE, Tenn. (March 2, 2014) – ETSU junior Katerina Vodova (Humpolec, Czech Republic) placed first in the long jump at the Sewanee Indoor Invitational with an ETSU indoor record mark of 6.13 meters on Saturday inside the Fowler Athletic Center.

This 20-01.50 leap bested the previous school record of 19-06 set by Taneisha Robinson in 1998.

Unfortunately, this mark was not quite good enough to qualify for the 2014 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships. ETSU has now set 15 new school records in the past two track & field seasons.

Additionally, Vodova competed in the high jump where she also took the top spot with a leap of 1.65 meters.

Senior Tyler Stepp (Dandridge, Tenn.), too, competed at the Sewanee Invite and took first in the long jump with a mark of 7.48 meters.
